How to check that a med spa is safe before you book

Five questions to ask any med spa, including ours, before anyone injects your face.

Med spas are medical practices, even when they feel like spas. Before you book anywhere, ask who will treat you and what license they hold. Injections should be done by a physician, a nurse practitioner, a physician assistant or a registered nurse working under a physician.

Ask who the medical director is and whether they are on call. Ask where products come from: FDA-approved neurotoxins and fillers come through authorized distributors, never from overseas websites. Ask what happens if something goes wrong.

A good practice is glad you asked. If the answers are vague, or the price seems too good to be true, keep looking.
